savings. In line with the macro-policies of the Ministry of Petroleum on optimizing natural
gas consumption and thus reducing air
pollution and subscriber costs, as well as
creating employment in the country, the National
Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) has put the “National Engine Optimization Plan for
Residential and Commercial Units” on its agenda, to offer financial and technical
support to those natural gas subscribers who have a
central heating engine room system, to have their technical conditions assessed for free.
Meanwhile, with regard to implementation of the “National Plan for Optimizing the Engine Room of Residential and Commercial Units,” the Deputy
NIGC CEO for Engineering and Operation
of Gas Supply Management says: “On October 13, 2020, Hassan Montazer Torbati, the Deputy
Minister of Petroleum and CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company, during a press conference,
officially announced inauguration of the scheme by unveiling its software system, and while informing the provincial gas companies, its promotion also started.”
According to Ahmad Raiyati, reducing energy consumption and preventing air pollution are of the most important goals of this scheme. According to studies, implementation of this plan will reduce
energy consumption of each engine room by 10%.
He emphasizes: “At present, adjustment
of the burner, insulation and installation of magnetic
or electronic softeners are among the measures that will be taken by
implementing this project in engine rooms. But in the near future, we plan to install the
intelligent engine room system on 100,000
Regarding the credit and the units included in this project, the official said: “$2 billion has been allocated for the implementation of this project. Residential, commercial and administrative
units are included in this plan, which, in the first stage, has prioritized residential units.”
300,000 engine rooms have been considered for the implementation of this project, and to date, 7,456 subscribers have registered to use this
project. Of this figure, 392 subscribers have been optimized so far, he went on to add.
He further pointed out how subscribers may register
in the plan: “Subscribers and implementers
of the plan can register by visiting https://goc.nigc.ir. Necessary tutorials for
registration are also available in this website.
Applicant companies, like subscribers, can visit this site to participate in this project and announce their readiness. After the necessary checks, the subscribers who have requested the optimization of their engine rooms will sign an agreement with the implementing companies and the necessary measures will be taken. Financial payments to companies are also made after the issuance of the official invoice.
In the end, the Deputy NIGC CEO for
Engineering and Operation of Gas Supply
Management emphasizes: “Energy consumption
optimization has no specific definition and a
criterion for it cannot be set. But in a general sense, the more correct the way we use energy and
energy sources, the more energy will we have.
Optimizing energy consumption does not mean that we do not use energy or use less, but it means that we use enough and correctly and prevent it from
